Dhadingbesi stinks

26th-03-2012

GAJURI: Dhadingbesi, the headquarters of Dhading district, is stinking these days as the waste accumulated at the dumping site has not been properly disposed for two years.

Meanwhile, locals have been disposing domestic waste directly into local streams leading to its clogging, further compounding the problem.

The waste is directly dumped in the local Thopalkhola and Arunkhola streams. As a result, these streams are clogged with the litter and highly polluted.

The Drinking Water and Sanitation Main Consumer Committee was collecting and disposing the solid waste with support from the District Development Committee. However, the committee has stopped operating since two years citing lack of dumping site. Consequently, the town is littered with waste and it is reeking, causing great deal of inconvenience to the residents and business activities.
